About

COLECO Project is the short name of Higher Education Curricula Development on the Collaborative Economy in Europe. COLECO project is an EU-funded Erasmus+ project aiming to examine the workings and impacts of the collaborative economy in Europe, focusing on peer-to-peer (P2P) accommodation platforms. From the research, the partners will develop two Masters level modules, a general module on the Collaborative Economy and another module with a specific focus on P2P accommodation platforms.

This project includes six partner universities:

  • Leeds Beckett University, UK (project lead)
  • Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb , Croatia
  • Cyprus University of Technology, Cyprus
  • University of Calabria, Italy
  • Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain
  • Dokuz Eylul University, Turkey

This project will create both academic modules at Masters level and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) about different aspects of the collaborative economy. The educational materials will support the European agenda for Higher Education Reform by participating in mutually beneficial partnerships between EU higher education institutions and the industry through collaboration with the European Holiday Home Association (EHHA). The project targets HE graduates who want to get involved in the collaborative economy, as well as the general public, since a shorter version of the postgraduate modules will be available open source in MOOC format through the eLearning platform Edx.
